NEED BEER DELIVERED? DEPTFORD BREWERY, VILLAGES TAPROOM CAN HELP

In light of the latest government measures, many food and drink businesses have been forced to close in Deptford and across the globe. But worry not, Villages Taproom is one of many companies evolving with the times and introducing fresh cans straight from the brewery to your door.

HOW DO WE KNOW?

If you want to have your finger on the pulse, Twitter is almost always the answer. Villages brewery announced on Twitter on March 17th that, due to popular demand from Deptford tap fans, takeaway boxes of beer were available for collection. Later, this was further developed to allow for Deptford beer-drinkers to be able to stay indoors entirely in order to reduce the risk of unnecessary infection. “Fresh cans straight from the brewery delivered to your door,” read the Tweet.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Thanks to subsequent tweets, we’re able to break it down for you as follows: First, send a text to 07309 905 702; Await a call back, then select your beer from their signature brews (RODEO, RAFIKI and WHISTLE); Follow their payment instructions to pay £49.20 for a case of 24, whatever tipple(s) you choose. After that, just sit back and relax – you won’t have to wait long either, because all weekday deliveries are next day guaranteed!

WHERE DO THEY DELIVER TO?

While specifics are currently sparse on this, our understanding is that Villages are delivering to Deptford residents living South of the river, as well as nearby surrounding areas in South London. This includes Deptford Landings.

IS ANYWHERE ELSE DOING THIS?

You can be sure that many local businesses that usually depend on local customers will be moving online over the coming months, and your support is more necessary than ever. We will be keeping a close eye on things as they develop and aim to provide them with a similar level of exposure, but for now take a look at @TapRoomSE8 and @talkncoffee on Twitter to get an alternate choice of Deptford tap or even coffee to your door.

HOW CAN I STAY UP TO DATE?

A Villages Deptford tap brewery website is currently in the works but for now, you can visit the link to sign up for the company newsletter which should alert you to the latest developments. Since it’s where we found our information, we also recommend following both @Villages and @VillagesTaproom on Twitter to stay informed.
